4 Reasons to Cartwheel Out of Bed

Yes, there ARE reasons to cartwheel out of bed and enjoy mornings.

Before we get into that, let me just admit - I'm THAT person. That intense morning person you dislike before your first cup of coffee. I function without caffeine and usually break into dance the second my feet hit the floor. But before you roll your eyes, hear me out. I wasn't always a morning person.

There IS still a such thing as way too early, but I like to dance the line of a morning person and a night owl.

A few people have asked me how I can possibly have so much energy. It's such an automatic thing that it's almost like asking me how I could possibly remember to breathe. It hasn't always been automatic though; it actually stated off as a CHOICE several years ago.

I think when you recognize and believe you have power over your mood....you gain that power over your mood. Funny how that actually works. Over the years, I've learned some of these positive choices become much easier. It almost becomes a question of "why would anyone choose to feel anything different?" The thing is we're all human, so we can't be too hard on ourselves.

Back to mornings. Here are 4 reasons to cartwheel out of bed: 

1. The endorphins. Adding movement to your morning help gets your blood flowing, which have some added health benefits. If you really want to take it up a notch, get a mini trampoline and make rebounding a part of your routine. 

2. It sets the mood for the rest of the day. It's easy to resent the idea of leaving your cozy bed, but that time eventually comes every single day. Ever notice how your day can get thrown off when you resist several rounds of alarms and need to rush out the door? It can turn into a bad domino effect. You have the power to decide how you want to feel and when you realize that, it's the easiest choice. When you tell yourself it'll be a great day, you're already halfway there.

3. You can't take yourself too seriously. Maybe cartwheels haven't been your thing for a couple decades...or ever. Start the morning with an Elaine dance because you should never lose your sense of humor.

4. You made it another day. This is the reason of them all. You survived and get another day to feel the sunshine on your face. Another day to do something meaningful. Another day to let loved ones know how much they mean to you. What more can you really ask for?
